Jokowi names new acting KPK leaders

esides nominating National Police deputy chief Comr. Gen. Badrodin Haiti as the National Police instead of Comr. Gen. Budi Gunawan, President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo on Wednesday has issued a government regulation in lieu of law (perppu) to name acting Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) leaders.

Former Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) chairman Taufiequrachman Ruki, criminal law expert Indriyanto Seno Adjie and KPK prevention unit head Johan Budi were named the acting leaders of the KPK after two of its leaders, Bambang Widjojanto and Abraham Samad, were declare criminal suspects. Another seat has been left vacant by Busyro Muqoddas, whose tenure has ended.

Jokowi, who also temporarily dismissed Bambang and Abraham, said his move was aimed at ensuring the continuity of the KPK, he said at a press conference on Wednesday at Merdeka Palace. (++++)
