ndonesia participated in eastern and central Europe's biggest travel exhibition, Holiday World, in Prague, the Czech Republic, this week in order to lure tourists from both regions to visit destinations across the archipelago.
Fitriyani Riduan from the Indonesian Embassy said the Indonesian stand at the Prague Exhibition Grounds Holesovice had featured traditional angklung and arumba musical instruments, Antara news agency reported on Saturday.
She also said that the Bajidor Kahot traditional dance from West Java was performed during the exhibition's opening gala dinner session.
In addition, Batu City government in Malang regency, East Java, participated in the travel fair, promoting its tourist attractions and local food, especially its apple-based products.
Aulia Aman Rachman, Indonesian ambassador to the Czech Republic, said that Indonesia had to better tap the tourist market in eastern and central Europe in the future.
To the Czech people, Aulia said, Indonesia was famous for its pristine beaches such as those in Bali, warm tropical climate and its rich culinary heritage. (nfo)
