Two patients of Siloam Hospital in Karawaci, Tangerang, died after being given a Buvanest Spinal anesthetic.

The anesthetic, produced by PT Kalbe Farma, was believed to contain tranexamic acid instead of bupivacaine anesthetic. Tranexamic acid is used to stem bleeding.

Your comments:

This is malpractice. Demand a thorough investigation into both the hospital and the pharmaceutical company to prevent a recurrence.

This is a drama, all down to the silly switching of labels. A mother died just like that '€” at least her child is safe. I had two knee operations in the very same hospital a few years back and received the same type of spinal anesthetic.

My condolences.

This is just shocking.
