A

member of the Jakarta Police'€™s Sabhara rapid response unit, Second Brig. Ricky Alexander, has been banned from driving any four-wheeled vehicle following a traffic accident involving a police bus that killed a teenager.

South Jakarta Police traffic unit chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Sutimin said the ban had been issued directly by Ricky'€™s supervisor and emphasized that the investigation into the case was still ongoing.

Ricky was at the wheel of the bus when it hit a motorcycle carrying Layla Fitriani Ahmad, 15, and driven by her father, Guntur, on the Trunojoyo underpass in South Jakarta on Feb. 2.

Guntur suffered a fracture to his left arm and a broken right little finger, while Layla died hours later at Fatmawati Hospital.

Sutimin further explained that while the investigation went on, Ricky would continue to carry out his normal duties. He added that the force was still waiting for Guntur'€™s testimony to complete the dossier.

'€œAs of today, he is still reluctant to give his testimony. We cannot complete the dossier if we have only one witness,'€ Sutimin said.
