The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) opened on a negative on Tuesday, declining 0.07 percent to 5,399.75.

Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) data revealed that 59 stocks weakened by 9 a.m. on Tuesday while 105 stocks strengthened slightly and 80 stocks remained unchanged, kontan.co.id reported.

The total volume of trade during the first session involved 28 million stocks worth Rp 21.24 billion (US$1.64 million).

The data also said that shares in six out of 10 sectors traded on the IDX ended in the red, with miscellaneous industry recording the biggest fall as it declined by 0.38 percent, followed by manufacturing and basic industry, which fell by 0.26 percent and 0.25 percent, respectively.(nfo)
