Acting Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) chairman Taufiequrachman Ruki has vowed to pursue corruption cases less aggressively 'to help government programs keep running' in the wake of the crisis between the antigraft body and the National Police.
He blamed the police attacks on suspended KPK leaders and detectives on former KPK chief Abraham Samad, whose last act led to the prosecution of Comr. Gen. Budi Gunawan, a candidate for National Police chief.

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo doesn't deserve to be president of this truly great country. But keep watching, his evil job is not done yet. I must admit he is quick but he still has much more to destroy!
For sure we are going to witness bad things, a general collapse. It's scary to be honest. It could take a few years. Indonesia and all countries are concerned. Total reset, and for good. Just get ready.

Indonesia is a great country in many ways. It is beautiful and very culturally rich. It is one of my favorite travel destinations in the world. But the politics is beyond rancid. I believe that a lot of it goes back to the Soeharto regime in which civil society was destroyed and only New Order loyalists were in authority. It will take a long time to heal the wounds of the corrupt Soeharto Era and its brutal authoritarianism.
Complete surrender to the lying corruptors of Indonesia. Remember 1998, Indonesia? Remember how more than a dozen banks went belly-up, all of them looted and plundered by Soeharto's cronies?
Indonesians need to ask themselves why Thailand and Malaysia weathered 1998 but Indonesia's economy completely shrank by a massive -13 percent. The reason is because corruption had weakened the economy so much that Indonesia's banks couldn't survive.
Indonesia is at risk of returning to 'banana republic' status now. Corruption is a chronic disease in Indonesia and it's the people who will suffer for Jokowi's backstabbing of the KPK.

This news is disturbing. I am in the process of setting up a factory in Indonesia, but now I don't know if I should cut my losses and walk away.
I am afraid President Jokowi is leading Indonesia toward riots and instability, and everything invested here will be worthless.
Indonesian people, please do whatever you are going to do quickly so people in my position can make decisions after the dust has settled and normality returns.

So, this means that Budi is now off the hook. That makes him a shoe-in to become head of the police in a few months' time when Comr. Gen. Badrodin Haiti retires. Abraham Samad and Bambang Widjojanto will be found guilty of various charges and be hung out to dry as a warning to others who get too big for their boots. Business as usual everybody ' nothing to worry about!

Some think that if the KPK, Attorney General's Office (AGO) and the police more aggressively eradicate corruption, Jokowi's government will be weak. This is totally a wrong perception. The truth is if they eradicate corruption more seriously, without double standards, the Jokowi-Jusuf Kalla government will be stronger and stronger, reliable, effective, clean, durable, popular, credible, etc.

I've been defending him for a while now, but damn if I'm not nearing breaking point. I'm starting to wonder, has he 'fallen to the dark side' so to speak, or did he/his entourage engineer this from the very beginning? Common sense tells me, you couldn't possibly rise through Indonesia's political ranks this fast without being a corrupt piece in the first place.

The look and demeanor of this new KPK boss, when I first saw him, didn't give me positive vibes. Now, from this news report, my intuition is pretty well confirmed. Just another typical Indonesian official: the last thing from his mind is doing his job, which in his case happens to be stopping theft of public treasury.
Wandering Star
The new KPK chairman is obviously a police official pretending to be the KPK chairman. It is indeed a vicious cycle here and I am seriously disappointed in Jokowi's action (or rather inaction).

Meanwhile, rice, the basic staple of the people, is up 30 percent, while no one has ever been charged over the beef import scams, the rupiah is in dire trouble, investment is drying up across the nation and yet our students protest at the Australian and Brazilian embassies.
Rusty nails
As predicted. Evil has won and corruption is en vogue. Let the stealing go full force.
