R

ain proved to be a spoiler on the final weekend of the round-robin stage of the 2014-15 Apple Coal Jakarta Cricket Association (JCA) League.

The Division Two fixture between Metro Indians and Senayan Tigers was called off due to rain in Cibubur. At GMIS, the Division One game between Menara and Emerio was reduced to 32 overs a side due to rain stoppages.

Batting first, Menara was bowled out for 143 in 31.2 overs with Harshad Bhatt top-scoring with 32 and Atul Kakkar making 29. David Surjit (4-40) and Vijay Krishnan (3-30) were the pick of the Emerio bowlers.

In reply, Emerio found Harish Tewari (4-16) too hot to handle and they folded for 120 in 25 overs, giving Menara victory by 23 runs. Maneesh Dubey made a fine 71 for the losers while Neetesh Pansare (2-17) and Rikesh Parikh (2-28) also chipped in with the ball for Menara.

With the completion of the round-robin stage, Fez Rebels are Division Two Winners with Taman Kemayoran (TKCC) as runner-up.

The top six teams of Division One '€” Jakarta Barbarians, GMIS, WISCI Wanderers, WPP-India XI, Menara and Emerio '€” have qualified for next season'€™s Division One and will now head into the play-offs to decide this season'€™s Division One champion and runner-up.

The bottom four teams of Division One (Senayan Lions, Challengers, Indorama and Ceylon) and the top two teams of Division Two (Fez Rebels and TKCC) will play-off to determine which two teams will play in Division One next season.

The remaining four teams plus the bottom four teams of this season'€™s Division Two (Metro Indians, Mavecrics Menarians, Senayan Tigers and Jaguars) will play in Division Two next season.'€” JP
