he South Jakarta Police inquiry into the murder of an Express taxi driver has yet to show any results despite weeks of investigation and the questioning of 16 witnesses.
On Feb. 18, Tony Zahar, 54, was found dead in Pasar Minggu in South Jakarta.
South Jakarta Police chief detective Adj. Sr. Comr. Indra Fadillah said that the police had traced the route the taxi took that day.
'The victim entered the taxi pool at 11:55 p.m. and gave his share of the earnings to the office. He then headed to the Citayam station, where he took on a passenger. From the data, it showed that he took the passenger from the street, not from a phone order,' Indra said as quoted by tribunnews.com on Thursday.
Indra said that Tony's death was caused by torture and the perpetrator did not steal from Tony because the police found some valuables near the victim's feet.
