Bali aims for 30 million foreign tourists

Bali Governor Made Mangu Pastika is upbeat that Bali can attract 30 million foreign tourists by 2029.

Pastika submitted on Wednesday a tourism roadmap for 2014 and 2029 to Bali councilors, highlighting the resort island's capacity to receive the surge in travelers. Bali welcomes around 3 million foreign tourists annually.

"Singapore, which is way smaller than Bali, can attract 37 million tourists annually. If they can, why can't we?," said Pastika.

He also said that the Bali administration was ready to construct necessary infrastructure and new destinations to achieve the target. (ren)(++++)
