akarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama has admitted that the administration cannot act tough against pervasive prostitution in the Kota area, located on the border of Central Jakarta and West Jakarta, with its epicenter on Jl. Mangga Besar.
"It will be difficult [to remove]. It's already a big brothel [area] dubbed by many as Mabes [Mangga Besar]," said Ahok.
"Everyone knows the place. But it doesn't pose any threat because many people who visit the place understand that they are required to use condoms," he said.
"My concern is on prostitution for the lower class who cannot afford to buy condoms, which cost more than the rate of the sex worker." (fsu/ren)(++++)
