he South Jakarta city administration plans to relocate 98 small businesses ' consisting of 68 small-to medium-sized business owners and 30 culinary street vendors ' in Menteng Dalam, South Jakarta, to Kota Kasablanka, a shopping mall located on Jl. Casablanca, beritajakarta.com reports.
South Jakarta economic section head Shita Damayanti said on Saturday that the city administration was proposing the shopping mall allow the small businesses to open on their premises.
Shita said the small business entrepreneurs would open stalls related to the creative economy, like batik-making, waste recycling and patchwork-making classes.
'Besides stalls that sell crafts, there will be creative kiosks to facilitate customers who want to experience the craft-making process,' she said as quoted by beritajakarta.com.
The vendor's placement briefing would be held in early May while the amount charged for rent would be discussed further with the shopping mall management, Shita added.
