oreign Minister Retno LP Marsudi has said Indonesia will convey four points during the 26th ASEAN Summit scheduled to be held in Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi, Malaysia, from April 26 to April 29.

'€œThe first point we want to highlight is on the importance of ASEAN having one legal instrument to protect workers,'€ she said as quoted by Antara news agency after attending a dinner banquet at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center on Sunday evening.

Coming in as the second point, Retno said, was that Indonesia highlighted the importance for ASEAN to strengthen cooperation in connectivity and maritime affairs.

The minister further said that at the summit, Indonesia would underline the importance of ASEAN countries immediately accelerating the settlement of territorial boundaries.

'€œAs we border on other countries, either by land or sea, Indonesia will give a voice to the importance of ASEAN countries immediately settling problems related to territorial boundaries,'€ Retno said.

As the fourth point, she said, Indonesia would highlight consular assistance problems in countries currently affected by crisis.

'€œIt means that we need one special arrangement on how we can respond or give consular assistance to ASEAN countries'€™ citizens located in a crisis-affected country,'€ said Retno. (ebf)
