he Tangerang District Court has issued a 17-year prison sentence to Jean Alter Huliselan for murdering his close friend, Sri Wahyuni, whose dead body was left in a car parked at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten.
Presiding judge Abner Situmorang said during the reading of the verdict on Monday that Jean had been proven guilty of torture, murder and theft. The sentence was lighter than the 20 years demanded by the prosecutors.
'We have handed down 17 years imprisonment to the defendant, as he was proven guilty of committing murder and several other crimes,' Abner said as quoted by kompas.com.
Jean said he would not file an appeal.
In November 2014, Sri's body was found in a Honda Freed parked at the airport's terminal 2. Jakarta Police found that Jean had strangled the victim to death and left the body in the car after they became involved in an argument.
