Guess what?: Lukman to make Kartini film

Kapanlagi.com

Lukman Sardi says he wants to make a film about the National Hero and Indonesian ur-Feminist Raden Ajeng Kartini, titled Surat Cinta Kartini (Kartini'€™s Love Letter).

'€œWe'€™re taking a different angle, featuring some historical moments,'€ the actor and tyro director said, as quoted by tribunnews.com.

This will be the second time that Lukman, whose career as an actor spans four decades, will sit in the director'€™s seat, after his 2014 debut feature, Di Balik '€˜98 (Behind '€˜98), starring Chelsea Islan and Boy Willliam.

However, Lukman'€™s project will be competing with another planned biopic about Kartini, to be helmed by Hanung Bramantyo and that will feature Dian Sastrowardoyo as the title role.
