'€œSix traditional fishermen from Langkat were arrested and detained in Langkawi, Malaysia,'€ chairman of the North Sumatra office of the Indonesian Traditional Fishermen Association (KNTI) Tajruddin Hasibuan said as quoted by Antara.

The arrests were made as the fishermen were returning home from a three-day trip. Tajruddin said that Malaysian maritime police arrested the fishermen on May 9. The fishermen were identified as Abdul Rais, Daiman, Zailani, M. Zais, Radit and Hery. Hasibuan urged the government to help release the six fishermen.
