RI's Sydney consulate receives threatening letter

he Indonesian Consulate General in Sydney, Australia, received an anonymous letter containing threats to Indonesians, which was believed to be related to the recent executions of Australian drug convicts Myuran Sukumaran and Andrew Chan, Consul General Yayan GF Mulyana said on Tuesday.
'We received the letter this afternoon via the mail service. It had no identity or address of the sender. It contained a piece of paper containing words threatening Indonesians in the areas overseen by our office,' Yayan told The Jakarta Post.
The Indonesian consulate in Sydney covers New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia.
When asked for details about the threats, he only said, 'it threatened to hurt Indonesians.'
Yayan said local police had been contacted about the threats and the letter had been handed over for forensic examination.
'Our office in Sydney has received so many anonymous letters, including those with threats, even months before the executions,' he said.
In March, about a month before the executions of Sukumuran and Chan, the consulate general was attacked by a woman who pelted the office's entrance with balloons filled with red liquid. The liquid, which resembled blood, splattered the facility.
The consulate general and the Foreign Ministry has issued a circular, including via social media, to remind all Indonesians particularly in New South Wales to be cautious but to remain calm in the face of any 'provocative' actions.
'Stay alert but go about your daily tasks. For students, stay focused on your studies,' Yayan said.
Indonesians have also been asked to intensify communications with fellow countrymen and stay updated with new information.
