UPANG: The East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Police have moved against a drug trafficking syndicate in Kupang and surrounding areas, with two suspects arrested and brought to Kupang on Thursday.
'A housewife is among the three suspects. They admitted to involvement in drug crimes since 2008,' NTT Police narcotics director Sr. Comr. Kumbul K.S. told the media on Friday.
The three drug suspects, Kumbul said, were identified as Yustinus Kenbudi, alias Chong Liu, 50, of Belu regency, Angelina Wong, 40, of Bangka Belitung and Yuliana, 44, of West Kalimantan.
Yustinus was arrested at Hotel Royal in Kupang on Friday in possession of a package of crystal meth and drug paraphernalia.
Angelina was caught at Hotel Mira on Jl. Gunung Sahari, Central Jakarta, on June 1 with a package of crystal meth, while Yuliana was arrested at her home in Central Jakarta with five packages of crystal meth.
The three drug suspects, said Kumbul, would be charged with violating Law No. 35/2009 on narcotics, which carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment and a fine of up to Rp 10 billion (US$770,000).
