he government has ensured that the construction of the Trans-Sumatra toll road connecting Bakauheni in Lampung with Palembang in South Sumatra will be completed before the Asian Games in 2018.
"We have targeted to speed up the construction process so that [the road] can function before the Asian Games," said State-Owned Enterprises Minister Rini Soemarno at Bakauheni Port on Tuesday. The 2018 Asian Games are set to be held in Jakarta and Palembang.
She said state-owned enterprises involved in the construction project, PT Adi Karya, PT Waskita Karya, PT Wijaya Karya and PT Pembangunan Jaya, would work simultaneously in several spots.
Rini ensured that the development process would be in line with targets that had been set. "I will check the project every month," she said as quoted by tempo.co.(+++)
