After days of much hype in the media, the first son of President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, married Selvi Ananda on Thursday morning.
'I marry Selvi Ananda, the daughter of Didit Supriyadi, with a marital gift of a set of prayer paraphernalia,' Gibran said during an Islamic wedding ceremony.
The ceremony was led by local wedding celebrant Muktarroji, with the parents of Gibran and Selvi witnessing the occasion.
Jokowi gave a short speech after the ceremony, expressing gratitude for the smooth wedding procession.
'Alhamdullilah (Praise God), the wedding has run well with the prayers of all the people of Indonesia. My family and I convey our deepest gratitude,' he said. (ika) (+++)
