Six red-status international fugitives were deported to their home country, China, on Saturday.
'We received a red notice from all international police, including the Chinese police. Several [fugitives] had escaped to Indonesia, including the six,' the head of the Jakarta Police's general crimes directorate, Sr. Comr. Krishna Murti, said at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang on Saturday.
The six fugitives were arrested in separate locations in the country between May 25 and June 8 at the request of Chinese police. Their alleged crimes are reported to have caused losses of more than Rp 50 billion (US$4.05 million) to the Chinese government.
'They are all Interpol fugitives for numerous crimes. They escaped and have been in Indonesia for a long time. One of them even has an Indonesian ID card,' Krishna said as quoted by kompas.com. (rms)(+++)
