oekarno-Hatta International Airport Police said on Wednesday they had arrested a Chinese national for stealing from other passengers aboard the plane he was traveling on.
Soekarno-Hatta airport police detective unit chief Comr. Azhari Kurniawan said that the perpetrator, identified only by the initials WX, committed his crimes while the plane was in flight, as reported by tribunnews.com.
Azhari added that the 36-year-old man was part of a theft syndication targeting planes.
'So it is similar to pickpockets on the bus, but this time the crime happens on a plane,' he said.
Azhari said that WX's arrest was made after the police received reports from several passengers that their belongings had been stolen from overhead lockers. (ika)
