AKARTA: The city administration is set to annul the allowances of civil servants who skip work on July 15 and July 22.

Jakarta Inspectorate head Lasro Marbun on Wednesday made impromptu visits to offices located at City Hall to check on employees who were absent without permission.

Lasro said he found that a number of civil servants had in fact skipped work. Meanwhile, some other sections violated leave regulations by granting leave to more than 5 percent of employees at one time.

'€œWe will call [violating] heads of city offices for further investigation. We will also scrap the three months'€™ worth of allowance for civil servants who were absent on July 15 and July 22 without first securing written permission from their superiors,'€ Lasro said on Wednesday.
