National Police chief Gen. Badrodin Haiti has insisted that two former pilots alleged by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) to be members of Islamic State (IS) are merely sympathizers of the militant group.

'€œThe most recent information indicates that they have shown support for IS on Facebook and other social media accounts. However, they are not IS members,'€ Badrodin told reporters at the National Police headquarters in South Jakarta.

Your comments:

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and looks like a duck, the police say it must be a cat.

Why has this happened to us, are we not all followers of Allah? Why did our government allow this to happen when they had so much information at their fingertips?

These pilots flying an ISIS fighter will find God soon enough when they encounter an F-15 in the skies.

The police chief probably thinks '€œit'€™s not a problem until it'€™s a problem.'€ Intelligent and educated Indonesian pilots radicalized, how much easier would it be radicalizing less educated and poor people? You need a strong-arm to rule this country, ban extremist organizations before it'€™s too late.

The police are too busy to investigate serious global security threats. This is a serious threat to security, globally, yet the police think nothing of it.

The '€œcivilized'€ world has addressed its concerns, and police '€œblow it off'€ as only '€œsympathizers'€ of a terrorist group.

They'€™re indeed suspicious. The way they change names is actually a common thing among terrorist groups. Jokowi'€™s administration seems to be neglecting this issue just like other issue with the Christian camp the other day.

This only shows that Jokowi is not ready to take firm action for intolerant activities. Maybe he'€™s still thinking that using a cultural and religious approach could work, but he'€™s failing.

He should be aware that if this escalates, there will be resistance and he shouldn'€™t take these kinds of things lightly.

I don'€™t really think that security agencies are too concerned about ISIS propaganda in public forums.

Other forum users who were around at that time will surely be able to confirm that this guy posted without hindrance over weeks and months on this forum.

I hope other IS sympathizers don'€™t fly for the national carrier.
