Vice President Jusuf Kalla is scheduled to attend the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Singapore's independence in Singapore, on Sunday evening.
Kalla and his wife, Mufidah Kalla, departed for Singapore from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in East Jakarta on 7:30 a.m. local time. The Vice President and his entourage flew to Singapore via the presidential aircraft BAe-RJ85, the Vice Presidential Office secretariat said in a press statement as reported by kompas.com in Jakarta on Sunday.
Apart from representing President Joko Widodo in the Singapore Independence Day celebrations, Kalla is also scheduled to give the opening remarks on an international seminar held by the Indonesian Students Association (PPI) at the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore. Kalla and his entourage will return to Jakarta on Monday morning. (ebf)(++++)
