fter a five-month investigation, the Maros Police in South Sulawesi have named two suspects who are allegedly responsible for the collapse of a hangar at the Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport calibration center, which is currently under development.
Maros Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Lafri Prasetyono said the two suspects were the project's field director Lukas Lengke and sales manager Tiku Kombong, the persons responsible for the development project.
'Both work for the project contractor PT Nur Jaya. They have been charged under Article 359 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) for negligence claiming others' lives and causing injury to others,' said Lafri on Friday evening, as quoted by Kompas.com. The charges carry a maximum penalty of five years' imprisonment.
The hangar, being developed by the Transportation Ministry's land transportation directorate general, was to be built along with an apron and taxiway. It suddenly collapsed in March this year, killing five workers and injuring 14 others.
