AYAPURA: The police Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team has identified three more bodies from the Trigana Air crash in Pegunungan Bintang regency, in Papua, on Aug. 16.

The three bodies have been identified as Asirun of Abepura, Jayapura, Trigana Air flight attendant Dita Amelia Kurniawan and Agustinus Luarmase, a Jayapura Post Office employee.

National Police Medical Center head Brig. Gen. Arthur Tampi told the media at the Bhayangkara Police Hospital in Jayapura that the three bodies had been identified from their dental records and fingerprints.

According to Tampi, the DVI team examined the contents of 10 body bags on the second day of duty, but only three bodies were identified, while DNA samples from the bodies in seven other bags will be sent to the forensics lab at the National Police headquarters in Jakarta for analysis.
