Twenty-eight fans of American rock band Bon Jovi reported the operator of ticketbonjovi
wenty-eight fans of American rock band Bon Jovi reported the operator of ticketbonjovi.com to the Jakarta Police's Integrated Service Center (SPKT) on Thursday for allegedly committing online ticketing fraud.
Having been swayed by the convincing look of the website, the fans bought Bon Jovi concert tickets costing from Rp 500,000 (US$35.24) to Rp 3,500,000, via the platform, according to fan representative Deki Surahman, 35.
The fans, however, suspected they had been cheated after the website administration told them via email that the tickets could be redeemed on the day of the concert, said Deki. However, the official online ticketing website rajakarcis.com states that E-tickets will be sent directly to the purchasers' registered email addresses.
'We then called the concert's promoter Live Nation. They said that the website was not the official ticketing platform,' said Deki, added that the website's email was using a Gmail account, not a company domain.
Deki added that the fans had already contacted the website operator via a telephone number and the live chat feature in the platform. The number was inactive and no one responded in the chat.
The 28 buyers lost a total of around Rp 108 million, said Deki, who lost Rp 1 million.
