Film director Ifa Isfansyah has one condition for his next project ' no romantic dramas.
'I'm all for challenging projects, new and fresh genres, rather than romantic drama,' he said as reported by tribunnews.com on Thursday.
The director of action-packed legend-themed Pendekar Tongkat Emas was interviewed at the Fukuoka Film Festival.
Ifa, 35, said that 90 percent of Indonesian films fell into the drama genre.
'A film of any other genre is a rare gem in the film industry. It is a challenge for our filmmakers.'
Two years ago, Ifa and his wife ' filmmaker Kamila Andini, daughter of noted director Garin Nugroho ' established a film academy currently educating 55 students.
'Our whole family supports the film industry. I hope things go well,' Ifa said.
