AKARTA: Two burglars looted a minimarket in Grogol, West Jakarta, on Friday morning, taking cash and several items, according to the police.
According to the shop's staff who witnessed the incident, the two burglars entered the store around 3 a.m. when they were working.
'One burglar pointed a samurai [sword] at one witness, while throwing him a bag and instructing him to fill the bag with any items in the cashier room,' the Tanjung Duren Police said in a statement.
'They were panicked and did as instructed by burglars,' Tanjung Duren criminal unit head Adj. Com. Antonius said.
According to the police, the two burglars escaped with goods and Rp 1,272,600 (US$86.8) in cash. The burglary caused the minimarket to suffer a total of Rp 4,215,350 in losses. The police are investigating the case.
