AKARTA: Songstress Gita Gutawa is inviting her fans to donate books during the humanitarian concert Voice of Children: Listen with Love to be held on Oct. 17 in Jakarta, kompas.com reported.

'€œFor this event, I want to collect a thousand books. I want to ask my fans to donate books,'€ she said during the concert'€™s press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday.

'€œSome may perceive that books are cheap, but they are valuable for needy children who can hardly purchase them,'€ she added.

Initiated by SCTV and Dompet Dhuafa, in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the concert will feature Titiek Puspa, Joe Taslim, Raline Shah, Syaharani and Gita.

For the concert, Gita will perform two songs in a medley, along with musically talented children who are part of Di Atas Rata Rata (Above Average), a program managed by Gita and her father, composer Erwin Gutawa.
