Jakarta is expected to see light to moderate rain throughout Tuesday, according to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), which has called on Jakarta residents to prepare for possible flooding.
According to the agency's website, bmkg.go.id, light rain was expected to fall in Thousand Islands regency, North Jakarta and Central Jakarta in the morning, while cloudy conditions would be seen in the other areas.
Meanwhile, in the afternoon, light rain would hit South Jakarta, West Jakarta and East Jakarta, while moderate rain was anticipated in the neighboring cities of Bekasi, Depok and Bogor in West Java and Tangerang in Banten.
In the evening, rain is likely to continue pouring over East Jakarta, South Jakarta, Depok, Bekasi and Bogor.
Meanwhile, bertitajakarta.com reported that a flood gate in the upper area of Karet, Central Jakarta, was at a level three alert following rain in Bogor on Monday evening, but added there were no significant impacts in Jakarta on Tuesday morning. (bbn)(+)
