ix of 30 scheduled train trips have been canceled due to flooding that engulfed part of a railway in Porong district, Sidoarjo, East Java, on Wednesday.
State-owned railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia's Surabaya operations spokesman Suprapto said the canceled trips were short-range routes, such as Surabaya-Porong-Tanggulangin and Surabaya-Banyuwangi.
Suprapto said the remaining 24 routes, including long-distance journeys such as Jakarta-Surabaya, had been rerouted to avoid the Porong area.
'We hope the floods will recede soon as it is already the seventh day since the tracks were first engulfed,' Suprapto said as quoted by Antara news agency.
