ank Danamon Syariah launched on Wednesday its new Ijarah Muntahiya Bit Tamlik (IMBT) compliant financial lease — a sharia fee-based income derived from leasing — in a bid to increase financial growth by 20 up to 30 percent this year.
Bank Danamon Syariah's director Herry Hykmanto said the bank had targeted Rp 3.7 trillion (US$279 million) in financing this year.
As of May 2016, he said the bank had disbursed Rp 120 trillion to IMBT, a figure that would increase to up to Rp 500 trillion in early 2017.
“This financial service was designed for businesses including those who are involved in infrastructure projects […]. It will help the bank’s financial growth,” Herry said.
He said the product would be very beneficial for customers as they would not need to prepare capital expenditure to acquire assets, but would only need to pay monthly rent to the bank.
It will help customers to manage their cash flow and financial ratios better, he added.
To achieve the target, he said the products would be offered at 300 Danamon Syariah and 174 Danamon branches. (sha)
