View all search resultsuring a weeklong operation, the Bogor Police have seized more than 19,000 hard drugs that were planned for distribution among teenagers and workers in the regency, its narcotics head said on Monday.
Bogor Police narcotics head Comr. Agah Sonjaya said on Monday that the unit had seized the three drugs hexymer, tramadol and aprozolam.
"We have seized 4,000 hexymer pills, 15,300 tramadol pills, and 565 aprozolam," he said during a press conference at the Bogor Police office in West Java.
Agah said the drugs were planned to be sold at Rp 3,000 (2 US cents) each, primarily targeting teenagers. He added that the police had estimated that the suspects would have made Rp 57 million if they had been able to sell all the drugs.
Police have arrested five suspects, DA (19), DP (22), AS (26), PF (19), and GP(30), four of which will be charged with Law No. 36/2009 on Health with a maximum 10-year prison sentence and a Rp 1 billion fine. The remaining suspect will be charged with Law No. 5/1997 on Psychotropic Substances, which carries a maximum five-year prison sentence.
"The suspects did not obtain the drugs from drugstores or small shops, but they bought them directly from Jakarta," he said.(rdi)
