tate-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II has signed an agreement with state-owned construction company PT Waskita Karya to construct a new terminal at Minangkabau International Airport in Padang, West Sumatra.

“With the signing of this cooperation agreement, Waskita and Angkasa Pura II will grow to become stronger companies,” said PT Wasita Karya director of operations Didit Oemar Prihadi in a press release received by The Jakarta Post over the weekend.

He said that the expansion of the airport with a total investment of Rp 363.9 billion would become one of the foundations to help the region develop rapidly.

The signing ceremony was carried out by PT Waskita Karya Division 1 senior vice president Septiawan Andri Pruwanto and AP II airport construction division executive general manager Agung Sedayu, and was attended by several other directors from both companies. The agreement covers structural, architectural, interior and signage, landscaping, mechanical, electrical and electronic work. (acr/bbn)
