Rontgen devices
2 rontgen devices powered with artificial intelligence (AI) technology support early detection for TB in Indonesia
Fujifilm’s innovations to increase healthcare quality in Indonesian society, among them is introducing at least 2 Rontgen or X-ray device that could be a solution on screening Tuberculosis or TB. Based on WHO data, there are eight countries account for two thirds of the total new TB cases, with India being the highest, followed by China, Indonesia, the Philippines, Nigeria, Bangladesh, and South Africa. Most TB patients didn’t receive adequate treatment due to delayed detection, thus too late to treat and cause transmission to death. In Indonesia alone, according to WHO Global Report 2020, 38,000 people die that year due to TB; and TB has become the state’s budget of IDR 92 trillion. Delayed detection is said to be caused by minimal access to X-ray machines; and not everyone can visit hospitals or health facilities due to economical, geographical factors or urgent condition such as natural disaster and the pandemic like today.
Indonesian can experience the benefit of the portable X-ray device powered by artificial intelligence (AI) technology from Fujifilm, starting from its debut installation at Indonesian University Hospital – Depo, West Java on 18 March 2022. This Rontgen device is a compact solution with low-dose of radiation powered with artificial intelligence (AI) that can assist doctors in diagnosis. Another value of this device is that it obtained a recommendation from WHO’s STOP TB Partnership, is portable and can be taken anywhere, making it an extremely important solution for TB diagnosis in rural areas. The benefit of medical products innovation contributed by FUJIFILM has been experienced by various partnered companies across the country. The following are comments from partners;
