In carrying out its role in the field of industrial assistance and as trade facilitator, the agency continuous to optimize services, provide incentives and facilities, as well as simplifying procedures.
"This is expected to inspire enthusiasm for business actors to export so that they can encourage companies to be strong in competing in foreign markets," said Hatta Wardhana, the head of the Sub-Directorate for Public Relations and Extension.
Customs and Excise in Merauke recently assisted the export of 2,450 crates of wood veneer to Malaysia, on behalf of PT Tulen Jayamas. Meanwhile, the Customs and Excise in Surakarta facilitated the export of clothing for PT Glory Industrial Semarang, amounting to the value of US$58,552.53 to Taiwan.
PT Glory has also obtained similar facilities for factories located in Bawen, Tanjung Emas and Demak. It is projected that this company will gradually develop and employ a workforce of up to 5,000 staff.
Exports are also coming from the Madura area, with the Customs and Excise facilitating the export of 21 tons of dried moringa leaves from the people of Batang-Batang sub-district, Sumenep regency, which were dispatched directly to China.
Through the Export Clinic program, the Madura Customs and Excise has provided export assistance to PT Sumekar Builds Persada as an incentive. The assistance is related to the provisions and procedures for the export of dried moringa leaf products and the fulfillment and filling of the Goods Export Declaration (PEB) document to assist the realization of exports to China
Lastly, Cirebon Customs assisted in the export of terracotta handicrafts with an export value of Rp 60 million to Germany. The goods, by Jatiwangi Art Factory (JAF), are scheduled to be displayed at an art exhibition in Kassel in June to represent Indonesia. Therefore, the export will be seen as a gateway for the progress of micro, small and medium enterprises to expand their sales to international markets.
Hatta promised that he would continue to optimize services and supervision in supporting export and import activities, as well as actively providing assistance and education related to various new regulations and ease of export for service users.
