mid the complexities of the IT industry and the accelerating progress of technology, adaptive leadership and strategic understanding toward technology have become the key to running businesses and digital talent effectively. In this context, mentorship emerges as a relevant approach to sharing insights, experiences, and cross-generational knowledge—strengthening individual readiness to navigate challenges and uncertainty.

Mentorship has become an essential part of professional growth. It not only offers a space for sharing experiences but also provides strategic guidance, leadership development and helps enhance individual competitiveness amid ongoing digital disruption.

On one hand, the younger generation of professionals is expected to quickly adapt, demonstrate visionary leadership and drive innovation within their organizations. On the other hand, senior leaders possess a wealth of experience and strategic insight that has yet to be fully tapped. This is where mentorship plays a vital role as a bridge between generations, connecting experience with fresh energy and creating space for meaningful knowledge exchange with long-term impact.

Through intensive interaction between mentor and mentee, this mentorship provides tangible value by broadening perspectives, accelerating the learning process and shaping leaders who are not only resilient, but also visionary and inclusive in the digital era.

Recognizing the importance of this, the iCIO Community, a network of CIOs and IT leaders across industries in Indonesia, has initiated iCIO Navigate, a mentoring program specifically designed to prepare the next generation of IT leaders.

Launched last year, iCIO Navigate has had a positive reception among new members and senior CIOs of the iCIO Community. This program is designed to provide IT professionals and digital talent with practical insight, strategic networks and the self confidence necessary to drive transformation in their respective institutions.

Through a one-on-one mentoring approach, each participant will be paired with a senior CIO from various industry sectors, ranging from banking, manufacturing and health care, to the public sector, based on the mentee’s individual profile and career development goals. The mentor-mentee pairing is not done randomly but is carefully matched based on professional background, current challenges and specific career objectives. This ensures a more relevant, applicable and long-term impactful learning process.

Over the course of several months, mentors and mentees will engage in structured discussions, examine real-world case studies and unpack strategic challenges encountered in everyday work environments. This systematic mentoring approach enables deep and relevant knowledge exchange.

More than just a learning program, iCIO Navigate serves as an intergenerational collaboration space where the spirit of innovation from young talent meets the experience of senior CIOs. Here, the iCIO Community strengthens its role not merely as a professional network, but as a sustainable technology leadership development ecosystem with broad impact for Indonesia’s digital future.

This program is open to IT and digital professionals from end user companies and young talent who wish to develop their cross-industry insight and leadership skills. Before joining, they must register to become iCIO Community members. The program is also open to existing iCIO Community members who wish to build meaningful connections and expand their perspectives through exclusive mentoring.
