LG commits to improving learning-space quality at Bandung State Polytechnic

R

eaffirming its commitment to contributing toward the development of Indonesian education, PT LG Electronics Indonesia (LG) is providing support to enhance the quality of the learning spaces at Bandung State Polytechnic, located on Gegerkalong Hilir Street, Ciwaruga, West Bandung regency.

A part of its LG Loves School program, LG is also providing a number of air conditioners (ACs) for commercial buildings to be used as learning media, in addition to the renovations they are providing for the learning spaces.

“We hope the support for renovation and AC devices for student facilities through LG Loves School can inspire and enhance their knowledge as preparation for entering the workforce in the future," Lee Taejin, president of LG Electronics Indonesia, said during the support handover event.

He added that this support would specifically be used for students majoring in refrigeration and air conditioning at Bandung State Polytechnic.

The LG Loves School program is part of LG’s social initiative pillar, alongside the LG Loves Indonesia corporate social responsibility program, which encompasses two sub programs, LG Loves and Cares and LG Loves Green. Through these programs LG is able to focus on supporting education, contributing to community welfare and dedicating itself to improving environmentally sustainable initiatives.

Moreover, the support provided by the LG Loves School program for Bandung State Polytechnic includes the renovation of three learning spaces at the LG VRF System Training Center. The program also provides commercial AC support, consisting of one round cassette AC unit and two concealed duct ceiling AC units, alongside a special AC control device for the commercial buildings, which allows centralized control of all AC units in the buildings with a single remote control.

"With these facilities, we hope to enrich students' knowledge by providing them with an overview and direct practice with the latest AC products, especially for commercial buildings," added Edy Sucipto, department head of SAC for LG Electronics Indonesia.

Being a vocational education institution, Bandung State Polytechnic greatly relies on collaboration and support from the business and industrial sectors. Therefore its management is deeply grateful and highly appreciative of the support LG is providing in the form of renovations and air conditioning units.

Through the LG Loves School program, Bandung State Polytechnic can improve the quality of its learning process, enabling its students to acquire better competencies and insights for their future careers, especially for the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering Department students.

“Bandung State Polytechnic hopes that the collaboration and contribution from LG will continue sustainably in the future to strengthen education in general, especially vocational education in Indonesia," said Marwansyah, director of Bandung State Polytechnic.

Bandung State Polytechnic itself has two study programs within the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering Department: the three-year diploma (D-3) program in refrigeration and air conditioning engineering, and the applied bachelor (D-4) program in the same major. Safe to say that it is highly beneficial for the vocational education institution to receive this support from LG.

Representing Bandung State Polytechnic during the event, Muhammad Arman, head of the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering Department at Bandung State Polytechnic, enthusiastically welcomed the implementation of the LG Loves School program.

"This serves as a strong example of collaboration between the industry and the world of education, providing greater opportunities for students to balance theoretical and practical learning. This will better prepare them for their future careers," he said.

During the event, LG also expressed its commitment to continuing the LG Loves School program, simultaneously targeting other campuses and schools across Indonesia.

"Although it may be considered a small step, with a strong commitment to continuity, it can contribute to improving the quality of education and ultimately the Indonesian workforce in the future," said Jon, branch manager of LG Electronics Indonesia in Bandung, closing the event.
