T Asuransi Jiwa Sinarmas MSIG (Sinarmas MSIG Life) has launched MyFit+, a health application designed to assist individuals in pursuing a younger biological age and optimal health with more enjoyment. Through MyFit+, users can monitor daily activities and their biological age status, as well as engage in various activity challenges with attractive rewards.
"In the midst of the digital acceleration era, we are faced with a fast-paced and dynamic life that has transformed the way we think, live and work. The emergence of the younger generation and the phenomenon of Gen X living longer and more prosperously emphasize the importance of preparing for a better future. Millennials need well-thought-out plans to enjoy life and stay enthusiastic as they enter retirement in this progressive era," Wianto Chen, CEO and president director of Sinarmas MSIG Life, explained.
"As an insurance company, we aim to actively support the journey toward a more secure and quality future. We don't just offer financial protection but are committed to promoting a healthy lifestyle through initiatives like MyFit+. With our support, you can confidently face physical and financial risks, ensuring a dignified and fulfilling future," Wianto added.
Based on data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS) collected between 2017-2022, 86 percent of deaths in Indonesia are attributed to non-communicable diseases (NCDs) resulting from unhealthy lifestyles. This aligns with the 2021 National Sport Development Index report by the Youth and Sports Ministry, which states that over 75 percent of the population has insufficient fitness levels. Yet, physical unfitness leads to an increased risk of severe diseases such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes and kidney problems.
"We need to recognize the importance of paying attention to biological age alongside chronological age because biological age is linked to various disease risks. People with a young chronological age may still have a high risk of chronic diseases if their biological age is old. Genetics, lifestyle and environment are some of the factors influencing biological age. Adopting a healthy and active lifestyle, including regular exercise, can help slow down biological aging and improve overall health," said Nadia Alaydrus, a medical doctor.
Consistently maintaining a healthy lifestyle can sometimes be challenging. Therefore, Sinarmas MSIG Life has introduced MyFit+ to make a healthy lifestyle more enjoyable. Using the Biological Age Model (BAM) algorithm, MyFit+ allows users to see their biological age or level of biological aging. Measurements can be based on steps, active calories, body mass index (BMI), resting heart rate (RHR) and sleep duration.
"Through various daily challenges and goals with attractive rewards, users are encouraged to live more actively. By doing so, they can achieve a younger biological age, maintain optimal health, reduce disease risks and lead a quality life. Specifically for our policyholders, they can receive even more appealing rewards by keeping their policies active," said Lukman Auliadi, head of customer and marketing at Sinarmas MSIG Life.
Moreover, MyFit+ enables users to have a personal coach and interact with a community. The company also invites the community to participate in its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program by taking on challenges within the MyFit+ app. "Through MyFit+, Sinarmas MSIG Life strives to fulfill its aspiration to help the community live healthier, more prosperous and sustainable lives. We continue to support the community in becoming healthier so they can enjoy a better quality of life even in their old age, realizing our commitment as a trusted partner for life,” added Lukman.
