ontroversi judi online, atau judol, di negara ini, makin luas menyusul adanya laporan adanya kecanduan judi di kalangan masyarakat Indonesia dari semua lapisan. Parahnya, kecanduan judol juga melanda beberapa pegawai negeri dan anggota parlemen.

Selama beberapa minggu terakhir, pemerintahan Presiden Joko “Jokowi” Widodo berupaya keras mencegah masyarakat terlibat judol. Diduga, judol telah berdampak pada 4 juta masyarakat Indonesia, dengan perkiraan total nilai transaksi sekitar Rp600 triliun ($36,6 miliar dolar Amerika).

Di Indonesia, segala jenis perjudian, baik daring maupun luring, diancam hukuman penjara. Sama halnya dengan penyelenggaraan acara perjudian.

Namun situs judol sering kali diiklankan dengan grafik yang menarik di situs web. Penampilan tersebut menyamarkannya menjadi seperti game online. Penegakan hukum makin sulit karena platform judol tidak mudah ditemukan di aplikasi yang terdaftar. Pemain harus mengundulnya secara daring dalam bentuk file ekstension.

Pada Rabu 26 Juni, Kepala Pusat Pelaporan dan Analisis Transaksi Keuangan (PPATK) Ivan Yustiavandana mengatakan bahwa lebih dari 1.000 anggota legislatif di lingkup nasional dan daerah telah main judol.

“Kami menemukan 63.000 transaksi terkait perjudian online. Nominalnya hampir mencapai Rp25 miliar,” kata Ivan. Ia mengungkap hal itu saat rapat dengan Komisi III DPR yang membidangi hukum. Menurut Ivan, PPATK menemukan indikasi adanya sejumlah anggota DPR yang menyetorkan uang miliaran rupiah secara individu ke situs perjudian daring.

Menanggapi laporan tersebut, Wakil Ketua Komisi III DPR Habiburokhman dari Partai Gerindra mendesak PPATK mengungkap nama-nama anggota DPR yang terlibat. Anggota DPR yang ikut judol akan mendapat sanksi dari Dewan Kehormatan DPR.
