Former MRT Jakarta chief William Sabandar was appointed as head of the Nusantara Capital City IKN Authority expert assistance team for transportation on Feb. 16, 2024, aiming to achieve the goal of 80 percent public transportation usage and net-zero emissions.
ormer PT MRT Jakarta president director William Sabandar has been appointed as head of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) Authority’s expert assistance team for transportation on Friday.
William was appointed to help reach the target of 80 percent public transportation usage in the new capital city.
In performing his duties, William will be supported by the team secretary, Resdiansyah, and various experts from different fields who represent the stakeholders’ involvement in the planning and development process in IKN.
William and his team will be under the coordination of IKN Authority deputy for facilities and infrastructure Silvia Halim.
William revealed the three key performance indicators (KPI) that will be the focus of increasing public transportation usage, namely accessibility to key facilities, efficient transit connections and net-zero emissions by 2045.
"The three policy frameworks, Integrated, Smart and Green, are the main foundation for this profound change," William said on Friday, as quoted by Kompas.com.
IKN Authority head Bambang Susantono said the team was established to ensure the achievement of the targets embedded in the master plan from the transportation perspective.
