egendary pop band Koes Plus is slated to return to the stage on Dec. 9 at Balai Sarbini in Central Jakarta. The Andaikan Koes Plus Datang Kembali (If Only Koes Plus Come Back) concert is said to be the first show of the band’s tour across the country scheduled some time between February and March 2017.

Koes Plus will reportedly perform an original arrangement of their 15 most popular songs, including "Andaikan Kau Datang Kembali" (If Only You Come Back), "Bis Sekolah" (School Bus), "Buat Apa Susah" (Why Bother) and "Why Do You Love Me?".

Unfortunately, the band’s bass player Yok Koeswoyo will be absent from the concert, as reported by Antara news agency.

“God still grants [me] signs to stay alive; to entertain Indonesians. This is [my] debut show after getting sick. Hopefully it will receive a warm welcome,” said the band’s vocalist Yon Koeswoyo, adding that he had been hospitalized for two months since June. To prepare for the concert, he has been trying to sing one to three songs with a guitar for the past three months.

Local band The Rain will sing some of Koes Plus’ songs as the opening act.

The Koeswoyo brothers, Yok and Yon, are the living members of Koes Plus, which was first established in 1958 under the name Koes Brothers. Its frontman, Tonny Koeswoyo, passed away on March 1987. The band’s drummer, Kasmuri “Murry”, also passed away, aged 64, two years ago in February. (wir/kes)
