outh Korean singer and actor T.O.P of boy band Big Bang has been hospitalized for an apparent drug overdose, local media reported on Tuesday.

T.O.P, whose real name is Choi Seung-hyun, was recently found unconscious and is currently in an intensive care unit for treatment, according to his Seoul-based agency YG Entertainment. 

The 29-year-old rapper on Monday had been indicted without detention on charges of smoking marijuana, after Seoul prosecutors announced last week that he was suspected of smoking the banned substance as many as four times.

Currently serving his mandatory military service as a conscripted policeman since February, T.O.P was transferred out of the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul following his indictment. 

In October last year at his home, T.O.P was caught smoking with a 21-year-old would-be singer, only identified by her surname Han. (liz/kes)
