em>Switch, a romantic comedy series created by directors Nia Dinata and Pritagita Arianegara with a script written by the five winners from the 2017 Viu Female Story Festival, premiered on Aug. 15.

As reported by Antara news agency, Switch is Viu Original's first series on the Singapore-based video streaming service provider, which was created to enrich local content.

"We have a plan to produce and develop more drama series for Viu Indonesia Original to entertain Viu fans, as well as develop talent in Indonesia and the creative industry in general, by providing the right platform to display their creativity," Vuclip president and COO Arun Prakash said in a press release.

Switch tells the story of two friends whose lives are turned upside down when one night their souls are switched.

"We have an exciting experience in producing Switch and partnering with Viu Indonesia team. I hope the young Indonesians will enjoy this show as much as we enjoyed making it," Nia said.

Starring Morgan Oey, Karina Salim, Tatyana Akman, Vincent Tio and Asmara Abigail, the weekly series consists of 13 episodes that will be exclusively available on Viu starting Aug. 15.

The soundtrack features the song "Dari Mata" (From the Eyes) performed by Jaz.

In addition to Indonesia, the original series will also be available in Malaysia and other countries available to Viu. (liz/kes)
