fter traveling around the world since March, local stand-up comedian Mohamad Ali Sidik Zamzami, popularly known as Mo Sidik, is set to perform at Usmar Ismail Theater, South Jakarta, on Dec. 2.
The show will be the finale of Mo’s World Tour titled “Fattitude,” which kicked off in Tokyo. Similar to Mo’s performances in other countries, the stand-up comedian will perform shows in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
Mo told The Jakarta Post that the English show, which is scheduled to start at 8 p.m., would be the first English stand-up comedy act performed by an Indonesian in Jakarta.
Bukittinggi-born Mo kicked off his career as a comic in 2011 by joining the Stand Up Comedy Indonesia (SUCI) program on Kompas TV.
A fan of Seinfeld and Gabriel Iglesias, Mo then honed his English stand-up skills at various open-mic shows in Kuala Lumpur in 2014, as there was no platform for English-speaking local comics in Indonesia at that time.
During his career, Mo has performed in many countries, including Cambodia, Thailand, Afghanistan, as well as at the prestigious Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2017 in the United Kingdom.

Last year, Mo was among the participants on Comedy Central Stand-up, Asia! season 1, making him the first Indonesian to perform on the television channel.
However, he admitted that he was not satisfied with his performance on the show.
“I was only a beginner,” he recalled, promising that the finale of “Fattitude” would be way better than his performance on the program.
Mo said the performance would comprise his best anecdotes about life as a fat person.
He said he had honed the jokes in over 30 shows in 22 countries, guaranteeing that he would perform well in the finale.
Those wanting to see Mosidik’s show can purchase tickets online via WSYDNshop.com with prices starting from Rp 100,000 (US$7.4).
