portswear brand adidas has collaborated with the creators of Japanese anime Dragon Ball Z on a series of sneakers that will reportedly be released in the second half of this year.
According to hypebeast, the news was announced on Christmas by the Twitter account of Yeezy Mafia, which also revealed that the collection would comprise seven models – which fans suspected would represent each of the Dragon Balls.

Known as the sneakers insider, Yeezy Mafia recently confirmed the theory by posting a first look of the seven pairs of shoes: Son Goku, Frieza, Son Gohan, Cell, Vegeta, Majin Boo and Shenlong, all of which were designed to represent the Dragon Ball Z characters.

Set to be released in August, the Son Goku model takes the form of adidas’ ZX 500 RM and boasts three dominant colors: orange, blue and white.
The purple Son Gohan model, meanwhile, is an adidas Deerupt and will be launched in September. The Vegeta model is scheduled to be released in November, while the Shenlong (also known as Shenrong) and Super Shenlong shoes will be available at the end of 2018.

Each limited-edition pair also comes with its corresponding character’s figurine.
