T

he Stroke’s guitarist Albert Hammond Jr has revealed that he auditioned for the second season of popular Netflix's series Stranger Things and made it to the call-backs.

According to his statement on Fader, he said “I did a taped audition for Stranger Things 2 and I got a call-back, and I had to do that same audition – two scenes – in front of them.”

Hammond Jr has recently released his fifth album. Titled Francis Trouble, it earned a 4-star review from the NME. The music video "Far Away Truths" is available on YouTube.

Reflecting on his audition, he said, “When you first do something and you’re nervous, time happens very weirdly and you don’t really understand your movements – you can’t sense yourself. Things just happen.” He also said that it affected his performance.

“And then it starts to slow down and slow down the more you do it, and you can really begin to feel the energy in the room,” he added.

“It gave me a new way to look at it when I came back to doing music and I was freer. I became the person I always wanted to be on stage. The child I was when I fell in love with music – how it affected me – that’s how I am on stage now and that’s how I feel the acting interacted with the music.” (ely/wng)
