AKARTA: After less-than-satisfying results in the first two of the five series of the Asia Pacific beach volleyball tour, Andy Ardiansyah/Koko Prasetyo Darkuncoro were the runner-ups in the third series at Samila Beach in Songkhla, Thailand.
At Friday's final of the 11th Samila-Federbrau Asian Beach Volleyball Tour, Andi/Koko lost 2-0 (21-23, 17-21) to Iran's first team Parviz F./Mohammad S.
"We were carried away by the Iranians playing rhythm, we should have set our own pace. The Iranians currently have an improved performance we should watch out for," Koko told The Jakarta Post on Friday of their loss in the final.
Andy/Koko were through to the final after they defeated Thailand's second team Sittichai S./Prathip S. by 2-0 (21-13, 21-19) in the semifinals. In the first two series in Khanom and Pattalung, the Indonesian top beach volleyball duo finished fifth.
