AKARTA: Former Putri Indonesia winner Nadine Chandrawinata, who has just returned from her long trip to Nepal and India, is now busy producing a documentary of her journey.
Nadine, who traveled with her friends from March 14 to April 9, said she was creating a film titled Sagarmata for younger audiences.
“Sagarmata comes from Sanskrit, and means two highly ambitious backpackers,” Nadine said, as quoted by newsportal kapanlagi.com.
According to Nadine, the documentary will also highlight socio-cultural problems in places her and her friends visited.
“We captured many rituals, like the one in the historic Gangga River,” said Nadine, who won the Putri Indonesia contest in 2005. “I joined the people having a cremation ritual on the river,” she added.
Nadine said she would never forget her experience in Nepal and India, including the 20-hour wait for her outbound flight.
“I had to sleep at Calcutta Airport,” Nadine said.
